MFT Blog Hop Time!!

Hi All!! Are you ready for some MFT blog hopping?! I hope so because this month's release is AWESOME! MFT is releasing 4 new sets this month! How cool is that? If you want to start at the beginning go to Kim's blog. So, for this stop I have a fun cocktail and Flopsey to share. When I first saw the new "Girl's Night Out" set I knew I wanted to make a frosty margarita card. I LOVE frozen margaritas with salt so I went to town. I started by coloring in the margarita with my Copics and then adding crystal effects. The rim is embellished with some clear beads to resemble the salt. I also decided to make a cute little umbrella. All I did was fold a small piece of cardstock and added a rhinestone. I really love how this turned out. I think it would make a fun girls night out invitation. For the second card I used the new "Flopsey's Flowers" set. Isn't he the cutest? I colored everything in with my Copics and added some Flower Soft to the flower centers. Well, that's all for me but next in line is the fabulously talented Paula! I can't wait to see what she has for us!

Also, My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com) is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, April 1st from 9-10 PM EASTERN. This month there are 4 new sets being released!

Head over to the MFT forum HERE to find out all the details and to find out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. We hope to see you there on Wednesday night.

Have fun blog hopping!

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #61

Happy Friday! I'm so happy the weekend is finally here. Hopefully, it will stop raining so we can enjoy the outdoors. So in honor of spring I decided to pull out my favorite little chicks from The Cat's Pajamas. These darling little gals are from the set called "Beans, Bunnies, and Peeps, Oh My!". I colored everything in with my Copics and then I matted it with a Zva Creative rectangular crystal frame. To add more detail I sprinkled some Flower Soft in pink on the branches. I also decided to sprinkle some between the crystals since the exposed adhesive allowed the FS to adhere perfectly. I really like how it turned out. The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket. The felt flowers and eyelets are also from Zva Creative. Well, that's all for today but if you want to participate in the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge here are all the details you need to know.

Love Hugs!

Hi All! Today I have a fun MFT Presents card featuring the newly released Hooga Booga friends. I adore these little guys. I also decided to pull out my new favorite patterned paper from MFT. I love the fun spring colors. I paper pieced the Booga with patterned paper and added a heart brad. I also embellished her dress with some fancy Zva Creative crystals. She is framed with a nesties die cut. The flowers and brads are also Zva Creative. When, I finished the card I thought it need something so I pullout out my stitching rub-ons and added them along the edges. I think it really pulled everything together. Well, that's all for today but check back for more stamping fun!
Until then,

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #60

Happy Friday! So, have you heard the awesome news from Taylored Expressions? Well, if you haven't here it is...Taylor is debuting the first ever Key Ingredients Subscription! How cool is that? If you've never ordered the key ingredients before then you are really missing out. They come with coordinating patterned paper, cardstock and embellishments all in one value-packed kit handpicked by Taylor! Kits will be released on the 20th of each month. Make sure to check out Taylor's blog for all the details on this awesome deal! Also, each month there will be a KI Subscriber’s Challenge included in your kit and you will have until the 25th of that month to upload your card and link it back to my blog to be entered into the monthly prize drawing. Of course playing is totally optional, but we just can’t wait to see what you come up with! The challenge for this kit is to make anything but a card and to use one of the chipboard buckles. So, I decided to embellish a cute tall gable box. I love these favor boxes! I used the Branching Out set and colored everything in with my Copics and added some glitter on the leaves. I really like how it turned out. Also, don't forget to check out my fellow Baker's Dozen DT member's blog to see what they did with the challenge.

Once, I finished the box I decided I needed to make a coordinating card. I used the new key ingredients on this too. The sketch is this week's Taylored Expression Cupcake Challenge. I think it's an awesome sketch. So if you want to play along in the Cupcake Challenge here are all the details.
1.You're not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got 'em why not use 'em!? :)

MFT Blog Hop Time!!

Hi All! It's time for another fun MFT blog hop! This mid-month release features two new MFT Presents set by a new illustrator named Sara Williams! How exciting! I love the fresh new ideas new illustrators bring. The sets that will be released are called Funky Flowers and Spring Sprouts. They are both adorable. Today I am featuring the Spring Sprout set. When, I first saw it I knew I had to create a card with the rainbow! I love rainbows! They remind me of my childhood and all the fun cartoons I used to love. Care Bears and Rainbow Bright come to mind. So, I colored everything with my Copics and popped up some clouds and darling butterfly with 3D glue dots. I then stamped the sentiment and added a fun little bow. BTW don't you just love that sentiment. It's so true! Well, that's all for today from me but make sure to hop on over to the fabulously talented Christina! Have fun blog hopping!!
Hugs,

Love Monkey

Hi All! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. So, today I have a fun little project to share with you. I used my new The Cat's Pajamas spring set called "Hearts & Flowers"for this altered heart. This idea started when I went to Micheal's and found this wooden heart on sale. I snatched it up and took it home. I decided I wanted to make it into a cute wall hanging/decor. I started by painting the heart with white acrylic paint. Then, I adhered the patterned paper to the bottom tier of the heart with ModgePodge. When that dried I added some glitter to the center heart. Then, I used some fun Zva Creative crystal chains to embellish the edges. The silk flowers and rhinestone brads are also Zva Creative. The darling monkey image was colored in with Copics and then added to the center of the heart with 3D glue dots. To complete the wall hanging I added some twill to the top of the heart with Zip Dry glue. I really love how it turned out! Well, that's all for today but I'll be back with more creations.
Until then,

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Tuesday!

Are you guys ready for some super cuteness?!! Well, today marks the first day of Taylored Expressions sneak peeks. Yup, Taylor is coming out with 3 new sets that will be available on Thursday. How exciting is that? Today the Baker's Dozen is featuring the new sets called Branching Out & Branching Out Coordinates (mini set). These sets are extra special because they were created by the newest stamp designer, Nancy McKinney. She is super talented and I can't wait to see the many new sets she creates. These sets also mark the beginning of a new Taylored Expressions quarterly charitable release. A portion of the proceeds from each of these sets will be donated to Eden Projects. Eden Projects' slogan is Plant Trees - Save Lives. It is an organization that recreates healthy forest systems in order to restore hope, alleviate suffering, empower people, and build local economies in impoverished communities. Their projects take place throughout Africa and also in Haiti. The tree theme serves a dual purpose in that it matches with the mission of Eden Projects and the name of the set "Branching Out" signifies TE's branching out with a new designer and a new collection of rubber stamps! Taylor has also decided to offer these sets in sheets of uncut rubber because a lower cost to TE means more money can be donated to charity! So, in honor of these very special sets, I have a mini tutorial of a Peep nest treat holder. I started with two scalloped circle nesties, one larger than the other. I then, taped some circle nesties in the middle of the scalloped circles and ran it through my cuttlebug again. Next, I took my scissors and made small cuts along the centers. After that, I cut a long slit on one side. Once I finished doing this to both circles I then started stamping the leaf image with white ink. Then, I took some tape and overlapped the scalloped circle edges. Next, I glued the circle previously punched in the center. Lastly, adhere the smaller scalloped circle with 3D glue dots to the larger one. Add some crimped paper and Peep while tying everything together with a clear bag and ribbon. I then stamped my images from the Branching Out set on a Taylored Expression tag. I think this cute treat holder would make any little kid smile :) I also decided to make a coordinating card to go along with the treat holder. I used the tree image and colored it in with my Copics. To add some color I added some Zva Creative flower eyelets to the tree. Well, that is all for today but make sure to check back for more peeks tomorrow. Also, don't forget to check out all the other Baker's Dozen design team members.
Until tomorrow,
