Hi All!! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. Mine was super fun. My mom had a Halloween party for the family and then we had an big kids *wink* party with some friends. I dressed up as a fairy and did my own makeup on what I thought a fairy should look like..hehehe Josh was a d
octor and DH was a Eagle's fan (I know so not original but he insisted) I added some pictures of Josh and me. Then on Sunday I started to work on Josh's birthday invitations since it is just around the corner. Eeekk!! I really need to get a move on. I will share those with you tomorrow so you can tell me what you think. But for today I have a Hambo card to share. I did this card for this week's SCS sketch challenge. It features the super adorable raccoon image with the hilarious sentiment also from Hambo. I love all their whimsical images and funny sayings. I colored him in with prisma colors and added some crystal effects on the balloon. The card stock is SU Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip, Kraft, WW, and Basic Grey PP. Accessories are SU brads, ribbon, and slit punch. Make sure to come back tomorrow so you can check out Josh's invites. Hugs Ana

CHF Thursday

Today I am taking a small break from Starving Artistamps to play with my new Cornish Heritage Farm Kim Hughes"Let's Get Stuffed" stamps. When I first saw this set I knew I had to have it since I don't have many Thanksgiving stamps. Plus they are totally ADORABLE too. I love all the cute images and they are equally as fun to color. For this card I picked the cornucopia which I colored in with prisma colors and gamsol. I matted it on SU Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. I did some doodling around the edges. The layout is from this week's SCS sketch challenge. Other card stock used is SU Real Rust and Basic Grey Mellow PP. Accessories are SU ribbon, copper cord, and copper brads.

Make sure to come back tomorrow for the last of the Starving Artistamps cards I have to share. You don't want to miss them! Hugs Ana

Starving Artistamps Wednesday

Wow..we are already in the middle of the week! This weeks is flying by. Today I have some more Artfully Inkables from Starving Artistamps to share with you. They feature a beautiful tulip with a hummingbird and an adorable little zebra.

The first card is the hummingbird card which was stamped using my new VersaMagic inks. I love them. They give you such a soft and polished stamp image. The layout is an old SCS sketch challenge which I love. The card stock is SU Pomegranate, River Rock, Olive, WW, and Basic Grey Perhaps PP. Accessories are SU brads, ribbon, and 3d glue dots.

The second card was made with the adorable little zebra from Starving Artistamps. I think he is such a cutie. I stamped him on Sahara Sand card stock and colored in the stripes with my white prisma color. I added some black stickles to his hooves. The layout is from last weeks Julee 's Mojo Monday. I used the same layout and accessories as the Verve Visual card I made for the challenge. I thought those same elements would go along perfectly with the zebra. Card stock used is SU Black, Real Red, Sahara Sand, Whisper White, and patterned paper. Accessories are SU brads, hardware, ribbon, Marvy oval scalloped punch and SU oval punches. Well I have a few more Artfully Inkables cards to share with you tomorrow so make sure to check back. Hope your enjoying all the samples.

They are so unique and beautiful. Today I have two cards to share with you. They both feature some floral images.

The second card features the Water Lilly stamp also from SA. The cattails and the dragonfly are also Artfully Inkables. Fun Friday

Wow... this week has really gone by fast!! Maybe its because the weather in Houston is getting a little better and I have been enjoying the outside more these past few days. It's still warm but there is a breeze and the mosquitoes are not waiting to attack you as soon as you step out the door..eeekkk! I swear this summer the little buggers had a picnic on my legs.
Since Halloween is quickly approaching I have these two cards to share with you today. They feature some new clear stamps I bought at Archivers a few weeks back. The adorable little Dracula was the main reason I bought them. He is so CUTE! I also used some Halloween rub-ons that I bought from Hobby Lobby last year. I was determined to use them since they had sat on my shelf for way to long. Card stock used on the first card is SU Eggplant, Plum, Olive, Black, Gray, WW, and Chatterbox PP. The ribbon is May Arts and SU. I added crystal effects on the Dracula's cape and hair. Other stamps used is SU Cheesecloth background. The owl card has SU Rust, Olive, Chocolate Chip, and WW card stock. The ribbon is May Arts and SU along with the brads. The white rub-ons are from Basic Gray.

Tomorrow I have an SU card to share so make sure to take a peak. Well, that's about it for today so have a great Friday!!

Tutorial Monday

Hi All!! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. Mine was AWESOME not only did I finally get to finish the prisma color tutorial I have been promising you guys but I also met Jen del Muro from iheart2stamp!! I had a blast spending Friday with Jen and her ADORABLE baby Ellie. We went to the Children's Museum here in Houston and let the kiddos play. I was sorta embarrassed because Jen's DD is the sweetest and most well-behaved little girl ever and then we have my DS which is full of energy and going through the terrible two's. Let's just say he kept wanting to eat her snacks (even though he had his own food) and stole her ball in the play area. Luckily Jen was a teacher and had some great tips for me. (Thanks Jen)

So now to the tutorial. I made a step by step guide on how I like to color with my prisma colors. There are many ways t
o use them and this is just my version. In this tutorial I will only use my prisma colors and blending stumps. If you don't have prisma colors and blending stumps Kim from MFT has an awesome deal she calls her Favorite 48. Make sure to check it out. I will also have another tutorial using the gamsol soon. Here we go..

Step one: I stamped the lion image from MFT "Its A Jungle Out There" onto white card stock. I then colored in the whole image with a light yellow pencil.
Step two: I then picked two shades of a mustard yellow color. One being lighter than the other. I started by coloring in the body and head of the lion with the lighter shade. I then blended that in with the paper stump.

Step three: I then took the darker shade and highlighted the edges of the head and body. I then blended that together as well. When blending with the stump I like to use a circular motion. Also if I feel its not dark enough I repeat
step three until I get the desired look.

Step four: Now that the body is done I start on the lion mane. Again I pick two shades of brown one being lighter than the other. I color in the whole mane with the lighter shade and blend with the paper stump.
Step five: I follow by outlining with the darker brown around the edges. I blend that with the stump as well.

Step six: Now that the lion is finished I like to add a neutral shade around the outline of the whole lion or image to make it pop on the white card stock. For this image I used two shades of bluish gray. I start with the lighter version and then accent with the darker and blend everything together.

Step seven: Use the finished image to make a fabulous card!!

Edited to Add: I forgot to include the card recipe. Here goes...
Stamps: My Favorite Things Its A Jungle Out There
Card stock: Georgia Pacific card stock (found in Wal-Mart) SU Olive, Rust, Chocolate, River Rock, Basic Gray Mellow PP
Accesories: SU ribbon, cord, brads, prisma colors
Technique: Paper piercing

If you have any other questions please leave a comment and I will try to answer back. Hope you enjoyed the tutorial. Hugs Ana

PP. Accessories are SU ribbon, brads, photo corner punch, and silver cord.

This card is actually also for a challenge that my stamping buddy Jen del Muro set up with a couple of other girls. She sent us the image and asked us to make a card or project using the stamp. It will be fun to see what we all came up with using the same image. She will then donate all the cards to her locate pet shelter!! I think that is pretty awesome. The image was colored with prisma colors. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Spooky Treats. Card stock used is SU Pumpkin, Olive, Kraft, Black, and Chatterbox PP.
