Holiday Update & Blog Candy

Hi All!! Hope everyone is recovering from the Christmas holidays!! I, for one, am pooped. Sheesh, I love Christmas but not the stress and hustle it brings along. I have been busy working on some deadlines that are coming up this week so I don't have anything to show you just yet...but I will have some goodies on the 1st that you won't want to miss. I am having so much fun with some new stamps and I can't wait to share them with you. So for now I am going to signing off until next year. I want to wish everyone a safe and fun New Year celebration. Thanks for making Ink A Stamp such a success and a big hug to all my LOYAL readers. xoxox

PS. I just wanted to say that I was a VERY good girl this year since Santa brought me a new Canon Rebel camera and Copic makers. Eeeekkkk!!! Leave a comment and tell me what gift was the most exciting and or meaningful for a chance at some blog candy! Winner will be announced on January 1st. Good luck

Copics, I'm jealous! My favorite gift was the craft light paper cutter (as seen on commercials). It comes with 11 different blades including a perferating blade. Yippee!!! Have a Happy New Year!

since we dont do gifts, I guess the fact that my credit cards arent maxed and I go into 2008 debt free is always the best gift!

My Christmas gift was my son coming home after spending 40 days in ICU, 2 days in Progressive Care and then 5 weeks in a rehab hospital. Long story and a more recovery to come, but I am blessed.

Oops! I spelled a bunch of words wrong so I deleted the last post...let me try it again!

My favorite-est gift is the one my middle daughter made/gave her dad and me. She created a photo book (through Apple) of 2007. She included photos up until two weeks before Christmas. It is really something! She had to sneak around and get the photos without me knowing about it. I still don't know how she managed that!

Hope you have a wonderful New Year's!!

My most meaningful gifts were the ones given to me by my sister-in-law. . .matching bracelets for me and my daughter that we're adopting from China and don't have yet. . .I think it's so sweet she thought of us both! And the other one is from my mom. . .an ornament with a Chinese girl on it. . .also for my daughter we're adopting. The fact that they both gave something representing her, even tho she isn't here, meant so much!

Oh you lucky girl! I want a NICE camera! My point and shoot just isn't what it should.... Unfortunately, my hubby is too cheap (but I love him!) to let me get a big ticket item.....
My favorite gift this year (and one I will cherish most!) is a pizzelle maker! When I was growing up my grandmother and I would sit most evening in December and make pizzelles together. She ALWAYS told me that if anything happened and she couldn't make them anymore, she would pass the maker to me and it would be my responsibility to make them (family tradition!) Well, my uncle (jerk is a NICE word for him) stole the pizzelle maker! Talk about petty! Anyway, I was REALLY bummed because my daughter is now old enough to help me. My hubby went on the web and found one for me! YEAH! I made about 100 in the one week before Christmas (he gave it to me before, so I could make some!) So, he may be cheap, but he sure is thoughtful!

For Xmas I received a box of stamping and scrapbooking items from an online friend on one of the message boards I subsribe to. They knew that the holidays were hard for me because around xmas 3 years ago we lost our 3 month old son to SIDS. This person (actually 2) people sent me a box with all kinds of tools, stickers, paper, ribbon etc. The box was packed. It really helped to bring that holiday spirit back into our home that has been missing for 3 years now.

This year I sent a Christmas card to my nephew (brother's son) whom our family hadn't seen in years. He emailed me and one thing led to another and now today my brother will meet his first grandchild. THIS was the best Christmas present I received!!

My favorite Christmas gift is the family picture I got to have taken. My oldest, a son, lives in MS with his wife and brand new baby girl...my second oldest moved out on her own in Aug last year and is working. I still have 2 daughters at home but getting all four children together at once is more than a CHALLENGE...so when someone asked me what I was hoping for this Christmas I responded "a new family picture" (our last one was when Brandon was just graduated from high school, over four years ago....and my youngest was only 8. Needless to say they have all changed tremendously...) So anyway I got just what I wanted. Oldest daughter was in the process of changing jobs so she took a hiatus (SP?) to go with and DH drove us all to MS.... YAY!
I love it!!!

Oh and I got the Sizzix Big Kick I was also "looking" at... :)

Thanks for the opportunity and for your generousity!

My son painted a picture for us of our home, and my daughter made me a stippled Christmas tree with glittery edges and a pen that she said was really hard to get the paper back into! LOL! I will treasure those two gifts most of all out of everything that I got this year! ;-)

My favorite gift is one that I gave. It was a DVD I made with all the pictures of my family put to music. A mini movie of this past year.

I was gifted with having tons of thoughtful friends and family around this Christmas. My favorite thing was that my cousin and her new fiance' drove all the way down here (6 hours) just to visit us for the night and they drove back the next morning. I was so happy to have seen her for the first time in about 2 years!

have fun with your new toys!

I got all of the nestibilities. Yes, all (well except the paisley and I didn't think I would use that one.) I am so excited. I had some of them on order over the summer, but they took so long to become available, something came up and I could no longer afford to make the purchase. Then I mentioned it before Christmas and that was my present! Yippee!

WOW! I'm so jealous of the copics. But, would have to say that Santa was good to me. I got a new cuttlebug and many sets to go with it. I also got a new nativity set which I was really wanting.

I would have to say the most meaningful gift I got came from a couple I don't even know. Last night my husband, daughter and I went out to dinner. We finished and asked for our check. Our waiter said "Your all set, it's been taken care of" DH and I looked at each other and at the same time asked if the other had paid. The waiter then told us that a young couple sitting next to us had paid for our bill and all they said was "Ask them to pay it forward". Like in the movie Pay it Forward. We were dumbstruck. We live in a Minneapolis suburb and this type of thing just doen't happen. Anyway, this is getting long but I wanted to share what an incredible feeling this experience gave us. We couldn't even say thank you as they were already gone. We will definitely "Pay it forward" when we have the chance.

The most meaningful thing I received this holiday was the passing of my uncle. He had been sick for over a year but refused to go to the dr. He was in alot of pain and I believe that he didnt want to put the family through the hurt of knowing that he was dying. We found out that he had terminal cancer and was given about a week to live. He lived for 10 days after the diagnosis and died on December 23. Yes, it was very, very sad, but I am grateful to have had him in my life and blessed knowing he is in a much better place without the pain and agony.
