Bloomin' Monday

Hi All!! Hope all the mothers had a FABULOUS Mother's Day. Mine was low key but so nice. We order some yummy food and watched movies with the boys. It was nice. Anyhoo, today I have a bloomin' card to share. I features the most beautiful Stargazer Lily from Starving Artistamps. I simply fell in love when I first saw it. (Stargazers are one of my favorite flowers.) I wanted to make the flower look 3D ,or as if it was growing out of the card, so when I finished coloring it in with my Copics I used an exacto knife to cut it out. Then I curled the edges and glued the center onto white card stock. Once the glue was dry I continued to curl the petals until they where just right. Lastly, I added some stickles on the petals. I really like how it turned out. The patterned paper is from SEI's "Jolie Chocolat" collection. I also used my cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder to give more texture to the card. I finished the card by added some beautiful pink dew drops. I really think they complete the card. Well that is all for today but tomorrow is TCP Tuesday so you won't want to miss it!
Hug,

Billy Boy Friday

Wow... it's Friday Baby!! I can't wait until the weekend. Today I have a super cute card to share. I was first introduced to this company by the stamping genius that is Lauren Meader. She made the cutest little nurse project! I was hooked immediately but waited to order since the budget was tight. Then I saw my good friend Kirsten make the cutest princess set and I just broke down and bought the Billy and Lily sets from Pink Cat Studio! Needless to say I am a WIMP when it comes to cute stamps. (Just don't tell the hubby!) Anyhow today Billy is making his appearance. I colored him in and then added some crystal effects to the froggy. I wanted him to look like he was slimy *yucko*. Next I went looking for the perfect patterned paper. I found this cute striped piece from the Scenic Route collection but couldn't find a contrasting piece. So I made my own! I started with some Kraft card stock and punched out some circles in various sizes. I used SU red, Olive, and Tempting Turquoise. I glued them on including some coming off the paper edge. I then flipped the card stock and using an Exacto knife I trimmed the overlapping circles. I finished it off with some paper piercing. I really like how it turned out :)
That's all for today but tomorrow brings a special Mother's Day card dedicated to all the mommies of the world...and especially my blog readers!
Hugs,

MFTeaser Release Day

The new MFT sets have official gone live as of yesterday night! So to celebrate the launch of the new sets I have some more MFTeasers to share. The first one is a card made with the super adorable dog set called "Gone to the Dogs". I used my ubberly yummy Basic Grey "Sultry" paper for a jumbo prima bloom. I really wanted to make the dog pop so that the image looked 3D. To achieve that look I cut out the lab and placed him on glue dots. I also wanted to do some paper piecing on the girl's dress. Again the paper is from the BG Sultry collection. The sentiment is from MFT's Essential sentiments. The second card is from the traveling set also release yesterday. Its called "Going Places" and it supah cute. I picked the skyline and colored it in with my Copics. But to make it even more exciting I added some SU crystal effects. It looks like the buildings are made of glass. The airplane was cut out and placed on 3d glue dots. I also did a trail of paper piercing in a loopy loop formation. I also cut out the airplane flag and tied some May Arts ribbon to it. I really like the way it turned out. Last but not least I have another project using my cup template that I share with you earlier this month. If you want the template click HERE. I tried to make it look like a dog collar. I used some SU twill and punched some holes with my Crop-a-dile and added some eyelets. I also ran it through some hardware. The dog tag image is from the MFT mini called "Friends Furever". I placed my doggies initials on the tag and hung it to the hardware with some copper twill. I also punched out some circles in the same color as the cup card stock. I glued the dots around the rim and handle for some subtle embellishments. I filled the cup with my doggies favorite beef jerky treats. They love it! Well that is all for today but I have some more cards for you tomorrow. Don't forget to go to the MFT site and check out all the new sets.
Hugs,

MFTeasers

Today is the day that My Favorite Things will release three new sets! They are so fun. I have been busy making lots of samples using these sets to share with you. I have cards and projects made. I am going to show you half of them today and the rest tomorrow so make sure to check back. The first project I have is a fun little doggie treat tin. I took one of those metal tins and added some dog bones inside. I used the new mini of the month on it also. This set is called "Friends Furever" and it features a cute little boy and his big doggie friend. I also has a dog tag and some fun sentiments. The sentiment on the tin is stamped in white Stazon ink. The second example is a card using the new traveling set called "Going Places". This set has tons of fun traveling images like an airplane, city skyline, luggage, and lots of cute sentiments. In this card I wanted to make it 3D so I cut out the map and places it on glue dots. I paper pieced her dress with some new Basic Grey "Sultry" patterned paper. I colored the rest in with my Copics. I also pulled out my cuttlebug and embossed some Kraft card stock with my Swiss Dots embossing folder. The brad is from Target's dollar spot. The last project is a cute little floral frame using both the "Friends Furever" and "Gone to the Dogs" set. "Gone to the Dogs" is a fun set that features tons of different dog breeds. This is a great set since I have three dogs and I am a loyal doggie lover. I used the bulldog image for this project since I wanted to frame my cute baby Chloe girl. The frame is actually a card board frame from Target's dollar spot. (I only picked one up but am going today to get some more!) I covered the frame with some DCWV Pet Stack patterned paper. I also used a circular chipboard piece from Cosmo Cricket to create a different layer. The little dog tag is from the mini. I cut it out from some left over Kraft embossed paper from my "Going Places" card. I really like how this turned out. Well that is all I have for you today but I have tons more to share night at the release party and on my blog tomorrow.

BTW My Favorite Things is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, May 7 from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time. Lots of fun is planned including finding out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. Head over to the MFT forum on to find out all the details and we hope to see you there on Wednesday night.

Hugs,

Clear Scraps Thursday

I recently got this adorable Clear Scraps album from Alma. She fell in love with them while at CHA and got some for us to play with. I was stooked to get the little train since it would be perfect to display my son's pictures. I was going to make a birthday album but then decided that I wanted to make a ultrasound album instead. I have always wanted to display all my ultrasound pictures in a cool way. So I went to work and came up with this little book. Accessories used are Making Memories Journaling pages, Heidi Swapp rhinestone words, prima flowers, dew drops, MM heart brads, SU brads, ribbon, and Crate Paper "Zoom" collection. I really like having all my dearly loved scans in one beautiful album. That's all I have for today since I am so busy finishing my SCS Arlington swap cards. The swap is on Saturday and I couldn't be more excited. I am going to meet so many of my "online" friends and fellow DT members. It's going to be a blast. I will take pictures and share them on Monday!

Taylor's Cupcake Challenge

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a great weekend.
Today I have a card I made for Taylor's Cupcake Friday Challenge. I simply adore everything she does and always try and participate in all her challenges. The sketch was especially appealing to me because it required you to use small images. I hardly ever use my small stamps because I can't find good ways to display them. The layout was great for just those stamps. The sets are a combination of Papertrey Ink's "Beautiful Blooms" and "Butterfly Kisses". The flower centers have rhinestones on them. I also cut out the small butterflies and added some stickles on their centers and a swirl behind them. Card stock used is SU Blush Blossom, Pomegranate, Saffron, and PTI Spring Moss. Patterned paper is Basic Grey's "Sultry" collection. Accessories are PTI ribbon, circle punches, and SU paper piercing tool and template. Until tomorrow!

Shabby Chic Saturday

Happy Saturday everyone! Today is a rainy day here in Houston. It's been a while since it rained so its nice to see the grass and flowers get a much needed drink. Before I get into todays card I wanted to share some exciting news. A few weeks ago I found out that my good friend Diana Lopez made it into the USA Taekwondo Olympic team. But get this not only will she be going but so are her two older brothers Steven and Mark. They are making history by doing what no other American family has done since 1904. Steven has already won two Olympic gold medals and four World Championships! I went to school with them and graduated with Mark the second oldest. They are just as amazing people inside and out and I wish them the best of luck! If you are interested I will keep you updated on when they compete in Beijing. D if you are reading this I send you many good vibes!!

Ok, back to stamping.Since we are staying indoors today I got to finish this card. It features the new Basic Grey "Flourish" and Maya Road images. The patterned paper is also new from Basic Grey called "Sultry" collection. For the main image I stamped the flourish with some VersaMagic green chalk ink. The floral vine is stamped in brown and then the flowers were stamped in VersaMagic Petunia cut out and placed on dimensional. I also added some K&Co pearls to their centers. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I did a row of scallops and placed baubles on each one. I also did a lot of paper piercing. The ribbon is from SU and so is the pearl and crystal pin. Card stock used is Papertrey Ink Spring Moss, SU Blush Blossom, Chocolate Chip, and Georgia Pacific white. That's all for today. Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

I made this card for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. I didn't read the directions correctly and just realized that you are only eligible to win prizes if you are picked as one of twenty-five bloggers that are randomly chosen. Bummer! Oh well I had fun making this card even though it took a lot to get it where I thought it looked good. I wanted to go clean and simple because to me that is what PTI represents. That style is sometimes hard for me so this card was a challenge. I'm not sure if I am completely happy with it but it will have to do. I used the PTI patterned paper squares that Nichole proved for this challenge. I combined it with some PTI Moss card stock and the "Green Thumb" set. Accessories are SU taffeta ribbon and square punches. I also did some paper piercing for added texture. Although I wasn't picked to participate in this month's blog hop my dear friend Kirsten was. She made an awesome card with the new "Pond Life" set. You must check it out and vote for her on the PTI forum. Go Kirsten! That's all for today but I have a new card for you tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

Airborne Thursday

Today I am taking flight with some Doodle friends. These cute little guys and their vehicles are part of the DoodleFactory "Urban" collection. I love DF! Which reminds me that I was browsing the Starving Arstistamps site when I noticed some new DF characters. She has a new Fairytale collection that is so ADORABLE. Enough enabling *wink* for today. So the first card features a cute little fox spinning in his airplane. He is quite a daredevil. I colored him in with my Copics. I tried to stamp the smoke in a swirl so it could resemble twist in the sky. Card stock used is SU Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Olive, Pumpkin, and Georgia Pacific. The patterned paper is DCWV "Glitter" pack. The layout is an older Mojo Monday challenge. I am addicted to this sketch. Accessories are baubles and SU ribbon. The second card is Mr. Guaco operating his helicopter. I used this week's SCS sketch challenge as my inspiration. Card stock used is SU Bayou Blue, Sky Blue, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, and Georgia Pacific. Patterned paper is DCWV "Pet Stack". Accessories are SU ribbon, and silver cord. I also added a piece of transparency to the helicopter window. I tried to get a close up. Anyhoo, that is all I have for you today. Make sure to check back tomorrow for some more stamping.

Hannah Monday

Happy Monday everyone! Hope your weekend was great. I didn't get much stamping done but I did make this card earlier this past week. I hadn't had a chance to post it until today. It features cute little Riley from Hanna Stamps on his John Deer tractor. Playing with him also gave me the opportunity to use my new Karen Foster farm charms. I color Riley in with my Copics and matted him on some SU Pumpkin. Other card stock is SU Summer Sun, Olive, Chocolate, and PTI white. The patterned paper is from Scenic Route. Accessories are SU eyelets, ribbon, copper cord, and 3d glue dots. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's "Green Thumb" collection. That's all for today but tomorrow brings some more cards.

Important Announcement

A few days ago Kim from My Favorite Things let us know that her friend Tish, who was battling ovarian cancer, lost her fight. She leaves behind a loving husband and two beautiful young boys. So to help out, Kim is trying to raise funds that will go towards the boys education. Please go to Kim's blog for more information. Here is a quick summery from her blog.

1) Starting tomorrow, I am offering a 10% discount on ALL stamps on the site. Use the coupon code Tish at checkout to receive 10% off all all the stamps in your shopping cart. (It won’t discount your other merchandise, just stamps.) The coupon code will run from Tuesday, April 15th-Friday, April 18th. 2) I will donate 10% of ALL proceeds (including money spent on other items on the site) to the family at their April 26th benefit. FYI - The discount applies only to retail orders… I am making it my goal to personally pay for the FL College Pre-Paid plan for the boys during an entire year which will be about $1200. Please help me reach this goal. And should you feel moved to do so, please email me for the family’s address, as I am quite sure they would love some happy mail. (And given that Tish was an SU demo, those hand-made cards WILL be appreciated!)
