Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #40

Happy Halloween everyone!! I am so excited that it's finally here. I am equally excited about the upcoming holidays too. So excited in fact, that I made a Christmas card on Halloween. LOL ! I had this adorable gingerbread house from the SASI "Home Sweet Home" set already colored and when I saw the new Cupcake Challenge sketch I really wanted to use it. I colored everything in with my Copics and added some Coffee Shimmerz to the house. It looks good enough to eat! All paper and accessories are from the new Christmas Key Ingedients. I embossed the snowflakes on the chocolate panel with SU white embossing powder. To complete the card I added some dew drops to mimick the gumdrops on the gingerbread house. So, if you want to play along in the Taylored Expression Cupcake Challenge here are all the details.

1.You're not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got 'em why not use 'em!? :)

Spooky Sweets Thursday

I can't believe we are a day away from Halloween!! This year is really flying. So, to celebrate the holiday I decided to make some cookie boxes for Joshi's teachers. I got the inspiration from the cat sugar cookies I found at the supermarket. I wanted to create something around them so I used Jen's box as inspiration. (Thanks Jen!) To create the box I measured the baked cookies and came up with the measurement of a 2.5" x 2.5" square box. I then took some PTI vellum and scored all the lines with my Scor-Pal. I used Taylor's sticky tape to adhere the vellum together. Then I made the tops of the box with PTI Chocolate card stock. To make them I cut out a 4.5" square and scored at the 1"mark on all four sides. The bottom lid is adhered permantly to the vellum with sticky tape. Then I stacked the cookies inside and tied everything together with some Papertrey Ink satin ribbon. The tag was made with the super cute SASI "Trick or Sweet" set. I used the cat image of course and highlighted him with some Coffee Shimmerz paint. It's really sparkly!! The red glitter is from Taylored Expressions. I really like how these turned out and the teacher's really loved them too.

Before I sign off, I wanted to inform everyone about an awesome new giveaway. Shimmerz paints is coming out with a new line that includeds 5 new colors on November 1st and to celebrate the launch they are hosting a blog candy giveaway. Make sure to check out the blog post for all the details on how to win!

TCP Tuesday

I know I'm a day late posting my TCP Tuesday card, but better late than never! The Hipster Hostess with the Mostess this week is Leigh. She is the queen of sketches. She is challenging us to create a card using this super fun layout. I decided to pull out my TCP Fairy stamps for this challenge. I adore these little fairies. I colored everything in with my Copics and added some Shimmerz paints to her wings and dress. All patterned paper is from American Traditional Designs. Ribbon is from Papertrey Ink. For the bottom of the card I punched out some circles in the same color of the card stock base and then painted them with Shimmerz Opal paints. ( I LOVE that stuff!!) I took a close up so you can see how shiny and glittery they are. Anywho, that's all I have for you today but make sure to check back later. Hi All! Hope everyone's weekend was fun and relaxing. Today I have a quick post to share with you. The hubby has the day off so we have some activities planned for today. But, before I headed out, I wanted to share this Elzybells card. I used my new Christmas image. I love all the new stamps that are now available. I colored everything with my Copics and added some liquid applique with glitter for the snow. All patterned paper is from American Crafts. To complete the card I did some faux stitching with my white gel pen. Anywho, that's all for today but make sure to check back tomorrow for a fun TCP Tuesday challenge!

Stamp a Sweet Impression - RELEASE DAY!

The time has finally arrived for you to see all the new SASI stamps over at Taylored Expressions!! I know you guys are going to love all the adorable sets Taylor is releasing. I am also excited about sharing this little project with you. Taylor has created the best sentiment set ever!! It has all kinds of tag sayings for all the special Holiday events. I picked the Cookie Recipe sentiment to showcase today. Although, I've never participated in a Cookie Recipe exchange I plan on doing so this year. I've heard how fun they are so I'm gathering some neighbors this Holiday season and having a Cookie Recipe Exchange Party! I also think I will go with this recipe too. It was so fun and simple to make. (Josh actually helped :)) I got the recipe online from the blog Bake or Break. I love peanut butter so these really called out my name. Once, I finished baking them I let them cool. Then, I took a Chinese to-go box and stuffed them inside with tissue paper. It's hard to tell but the tissue is actually stamped with the snowflake image from the "Home Sweet Home" set. I then wrapped everything up with some card stock from the new Christmas Key Ingredients. To decorate the piece of card stock I cut up some panels of patterned paper and adhered them to the paper. All the paper and ribbon are from the Key Ingredients packet. I then stamped the tag with the sentiment and added the cute cupcake row. Finally, I tied the tag to the ribbon bow. I can't wait to make a few more of these when Christmas time comes along. I think all my neighbors will love these Cookie Exchange Invitations.
Don't forget to check out all the other Baker's Dozen blogs for more fun eye candy!!
Have a great weekend,

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Wednesday!

Whew...boy did I need a stamping/blogging mini vacation. These last couple of days have been spent relaxing, enjoying time with the family, and working on some yummy eye candy. Now, I'm back, refreshed, and super excited to share this Taylored Expressions SASI Sneak Peek!! I am SERIOUSLY in LOVE with the new Holiday stamp sets Taylor is releasing on Friday. They are so fun, cute, and sweet. I had a hard time picking just one stamp image to showcase today. I finally settled on Rudy. Isn't he the cutest? I colored him in with my Copics and added some Shimmerz paint to his antlers. His nose is adorned with Taylored Expression "Fire Engine" red glitter which is part of the new Key Ingredients. This new set of key ingredients is awesome. I love everything about it, especially the patterned paper. The colors are also perfect for this holiday season. Anywho, that is all I can show you today but I have tons more to share with you. I'll be back on Thursday with the rest of my SASI creations. In the meantime, make sure to check out the rest of the Baker's Dozen blogs for more sneak peeks. Also, Jami is giving away some SASI "Sweet Treats" over at the Stamp A Sweet Impression blog. Yay! It's Friday! I am super excited about tonight because we have a Halloween party to go to. Our neighbors are part of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo volunteer committee and the Rodeo hosts an annual Halloween party for them. They are allowed two guests so they asked us to come along. Lots of free food and drinks! Whoot Whoot!! I have some last minute shopping to do so I am making today's post quick and simple. Today's Taylored Expression Cupcake Challenge is a great one. I ABSOLUTELY love this sketch. I used the cute Unity Stamp Co. Halloween set called "Little Monsters". I actaully won it at a Hip Hop Thursday! (Thanks Angela.) I adore this little Frankenstein image so I used him on this sketch. I colored everything in with Copics. Card stock is from SU. The patterned paper is available as part of the Halloween Key Ingredients over at Taylored Expression. The beautiful satin ribbon is also from Taylored Expressions. Anywho, if you want to play along here are all the details.
1.You're not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got 'em why not use 'em!? :)

Pink Poison Thursday!

I wanted to share a few Pink Poison cards I made using the clear set called "Faith, Hope, Love". This set is actually being discontinued since Marie wants to focus on rubber stamps. She is also offering it at a discounted price. The stamps are awesome and stamp beautifully. (You have to hurry though since quantities are limited.) I really love the elegant script. I combined the cards with some silver embossing. I felt that the fancy words deserved some silver shine. The cross is embossed on Papertrey Ink Vellum and then cut out. The patterned paper on the first one is from Cosmo Cricket "Wonderland". The ribbon is also from PTI. Other accessories are rhinestones, SU jumbo eyelets, and paper piercing tool. The second card was made using last week's SCS sketch challenge. I really love this layout. All patterned paper and brads are from Doodlebug Designs. The beautiful satin ribbon is from Taylored Expressions. I really like the simplicity of these two cards. They are elegant and crisp.
Well, that's all I have for today, but tomorrow brings another Taylored Expression Cupcake Challenge. I also wanted to mention that I have posted a cool Pirate project over at the SASI blog. Check it out here.

Baby Elzybells

So, I am super excited about my cousin having her baby tomorrow afternoon. She is scheduled for a C-section at noon!! She is having a baby girl, which she is naming Julia. I LOVE newborns. They are so angelic and smell so sweet. I decided I wanted to make her a special card. I used my new clear Elzybells stamps. Aren't these sheep the cutest things ever? I combined it with some equally adorable patterned paper from Basic Grey called "Urban Prairie". I also decided to pull out my Swiss Dots embossing folder. I embossed some Kraft card stock and stamped the sentiment on the bottom. To complete the card I added an SU flower and Making Memories heart brad. To add some color to my flower I used a pink Copic marker to highlight the petals. Card stock and ribbon is from Papertrey Ink. Well, that's all for today. Stay tuned for some more stamping!
Until then,

MFT Monday

Happy Monday everyone! Hope your weekend was fun and relaxing :) I finally bought Josh's Halloween costume. He is going to be a Pirate...LOL He looks so cute in it. I will post pictures soon. Anywho, I wanted to start the week off with an MFT card. I combined this card with two MFT Forum Fun challenges. The first is Cindy's amazing sketch challenge and the second is for the Who's That Girl challenge. This week's featured set is Going Places and Laura has asked that we add brads to our cards.
ETA I didn't read the directions right you are actually asked to include eyelets!
I really like this set because it has so many possibilites. You can use it for a co-worker who is leaving a job, a friend who is going on vacation, a honeymoon, and many more occasions. For this card I colored everything in with my Copics and added some glitter accents with my Spica Pens. The patterned paper is from SEI "Poppy" collection. Other card stock and ribbon is from SU and PTI. Don't forget to join the MFT crew on SCS for some daily forum fun.

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #37

Happy Friday everyone! Are you ready for another Taylored Expression Cupcake Challenge? I hope so, because this sketch is a great one. I love circles on my layouts so this one was loads of fun. I decided to use my new Fluffles stamp that I picked up at Mike's for 40% off! I love getting a good deal :) I think if I had to pick a stamp that represented me I would pick this one. I love DESSERT!! I'm not a huge fan of candy, not because I don't like it, because I figure that if I'm going eat all those calories I better make it good with a tasty dessert! LOL I also used my new Shimmerz paint on the balloon and icing. This stuff is AMAZING!! I used a paint brush to apply it and it really makes things shimmer. Seriously, the possibilities are endless. They also have a plethora of colors too. Make sure to check out the Shimmerz blog for more inspiration. Anywho, if you want to play along in the challenge here are all the details. I can't wait to see all of your creations.1.You're not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got 'em why not use 'em!? :)

Elzybells Thursday

How about some Christmas cheer?! I am really getting into the holiday spirit. This time of year is my FAVORITE. So, I've started earlier with my Christmas cards. I don't want to wait until the last minute to create and send out mine this year. I decided I am only going to send close family and friends a handmade card. I know it sounds mean, but I really want to mail out elaborate, detailed, and different cards instead of mass produced simple ones. The only way I can do that is to limit my list. Rest assured, everyone will get something special too. So, the cards I am sharing with you today feature the new Elzybells Holiday images. I ADORE everything Elzybells. These are actually from the UK and are larger than the US version. I happen to like the larger size and the wider selection the Elzybells UK site offers. The first card was made with the super cute Penguin Tree image. I heart Penguins so this was a must for me. I colored everything in with Copics and added stickles on the ornaments. The card stock is from American Crafts. The second card features the cutest Christmas Caroling group ever :) I also colored everything in with my Copics and added Taylored Expressions glitter to the snow and trim. The satin ribbon is also from Taylored Expressions. The patterned paper and brad is from Imaginisce "Snowy Jo" collection. Well, that's all for today but tomorrow brings another Taylored Expression Cupcake Challenge!

High Hopes Wednesday

So, if you didn't already know the super fun stamp company High Hopes Stamps has started a blog! I am so excited because I love those stamps. To promote the new blog they are holding all kinds of giveaways and challenges. I had to join in the fun and pull out my High Hope stamps. The first challenge was to create a Birthday card using brads. I picked the adorable Hippo stamp for that challenge. I colored everything in with my Copics and added stickles to her fingernails and checks. The patterned paper used is Basic Grey "Urban Prairie". The second challenge was to create a card with the colors green, blue, brown, and a neutral. I picked my favorite little bunny for this one. I had to add orange to the card since the stamp features carrots. Yikes...I hope that's ok :) It also happened to coordinate with yesterday's SCS Color challenge. I love it when things work out unexpectedly. I also colored in with my Copics and used my Spica pens to highlight some details. The patterned paper is from SEI "Oasis" collection. The brads and flowers are from SU. Well, that's all I have for you today. I can't wait to see what next week's challenge is! Make sure to stop by the High Hopes blog for all the details on how to play :)

BTW I am feeling MUCH better today! Thank you so much for all the get well wishes!! You guys ROCK :)

More MFT Enabling!

Hi All! It's a quick post tonight. I wanted to show you two more cards I made using the new MFT stamps. They are now available online so make sure and check out what's new! These cards were made with the "Window Shopping" set. I think this set is so cute. I love shoes so this really makes me smile :) The first card was inspired by this week's SCS sketch challenge and the second card was made with France's MFT sketch. The second card took me forever to make. It has lots of details, like the 3d acetate panel, but I couldn't get a good picture. The patterned paper in the background is also stunning but it just doesn't show up on film. *boo* Anywho, I'm happy with how it turned out eventhough it took me longer than expected. Make sure to check back tomorrow for another fun Taylored Expression Cupcake Challenge.
Until then,

MFT Release Day!!

Are you ready for some more enabling?? Well, today I have some fun new cards to share that were made with the soon-to-be released MFT sets. This group of cards all feature sets created by Stephanie Fizer. She is so TALENTED. Her sets are always fun, detailed, and creative! The first card is my favorite of the bunch. This set is called "Peppermint Cats". I colored everything in with my Copics and added stickles on the stars. The patterned paper is from ATD "Christmas Party" pack. Other accessories used are SU brads, PTI ribbon, and liquid applique. The second card was made with the "Christmas Owls" set. Aren't these owls ADORABLE? I colored everything in with Copics again and added some stickles on these stars too. Patterned paper used for this card is from Cosmo Cricket. Other accessories are SU brads, satin ribbon, and liquid applique. Last, but not least, the third card features the set called "A Scarve for Three". I happen to love snowmen so this set really makes me smile. I wanted to make this card extra sparkly so I added some Taylored Expression glitter to the hats and earmuffs. It's hard to see on this picture, but the sparkle is AMAZING!! The layout was inspired by an recent SCS Sketch challenge. I changed it up a tiny bit, but for the most part it's the same sketch. The patterned paper used for th is card is American Tradition. Accessories are PTI ribbon, SU brads, Copics, circle punches, and an Imaginisce brad. Anywho, that is all I have for you today, but I have some more samples to share at the MFT Release Party. It's going to be so much fun! Here are all the details.

My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com) is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, October 1 from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time. This month there are SIX new sets being released, plus a new storage system for your MFT stamps that you are gonna love!

Head over to the MFT forum on www.splitcoaststampers.com to find out all the details and to find out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. We hope to see you there on Wednesday night.
