Arrr...Saturday

Happy Saturday everyone!! This card is for my cousins Pirate themed birthday party. I used the cute SU "Ahoy Matey" set and the matching wheel. I tried to go for the aged map look so I stamped the wheel on Sahara Sand and distressed it but tearing the edges and sponging. I also lightly watercolored the image to give that weathered look. The pirate is colored in with SU markers and has stickles on his sword. I did some paper piercing around the oval cutout and distress the edges. Hemp twine and gingham ribbon were also used as accents. I used my oval punch to display the sentiment. Other cardstock used is Cool Caribbean, Chocolate Chip, and Real Red. To finish it off I stamped the parrot on a circle tag and hung it from the hemp. So with that done I say Arrr.....have a great Saturday :)

"My Favorite Things" Friday

I was so excited today when I opened my mailbox. I finally got my hands on the awesome stamps from My Favorite Things. I love this one set in particular because I have three dogs...and until now I didn't know it was a cool thing *smile* For this card I used SU Sage Shadow, Cranberry Crisp, Choc Chip, and Whisper White. The DP I bought at Hobby Lobby. I used my decorative scissors for the main frame and the scalloped edge on the side of the DP was made with my slit punch. The sentiment is Green Grass and the background is SU "Sweet Spots" I added some ribbon and eyelets to finish it off. Well I hope you guys have another great weekend. I plan to play with my new stamps..YIPPEE!!!

Too Cute Thursday

Happy Thursday everyone!! I really am getting in the Spring spirit so I decided to break in my new SU "Bunny Hugs" set from the Mini catalog. I bought this set on impulse but I am so glad I did. Its so cute and it works for Easter, Spring, and baby cards. The layout is the new sketch challenge on the SCS site. For the sentiment I just had to use my Green Grass stamp set again. I think I am going to find making a card without them really hard. They are so classic, elegant, and adorable at the same time. The butterfly is also from Green Grass. The cardstock used is SU Certain Celery, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, and Whisper White. I used my new ribbon from Micheal's and some decorative scissors around the So Saffron edge. The tab is the new punch from SU. To finish the card off I added some stickles and did some sponging.

Whatever Goes Wednesday

This is my first tall card ever!! I have always wanted to make one I just never got around to it. This is a quick card that does not have much stamping. I did use my new Green Grass stamps for the sentiment. It was so hard to pick just one since I love them all. I really recommend you check out their site because their rubbah is awesome and of great quality. Its worth every penny. I also used some of my new ric rac ribbon I bought. For the flowers I punched out ovals from my LilyKate pattern paper. I inked the edges and popped them on dimensions. I used big brads for their middles. Other cardstock used is SU Chocolate Chip, and Purple Lace.

Shopping Goodies!!

Sorry no new card today but I did want to show you guys what I bought last night at Micheal's and Hancock fabrics. First I went to MK's to look for the dollar bin clear stamps but once their I noticed that they were sold out so I went searching some more. I found these cute flower photo clips and I just had to get the ribbon bobbins. I got the velvet pink and turquoise. The lady did tell me that they have a huge shipment of the clear stamps coming in on Friday!! As I was leaving I noticed that the Hancock fabric store was going out of business and everything was on sale. I took a peak and found these awesome ric rac spools for a dollar. The colors are spring hues and so yummy. I think I might go and buy some more for a future blog candy giveaway.

Mail Out Monday

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was spectacular. I did not get to stamp that much but I did other fun things. This card was made last night before going to bed. I got the sketch idea from an old issue of Paper Crafts. I wanted to make a quick and simple card. I used the SU "Carte Postale" again. The paper is SU Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White. For the main motif I stamped the image with my SU markers. I popped it on dimensions for an added element. I also used some brads and designer paper which I stamped the "French Flair" background on top of with Sahara Sand ink. I added some ribbon and distressed the edges. I hardly do simple cards but I might try some more. BTW all the new blog links I have received in my blog link share are AMAZING. I am so glad your guys shared them with me. Can't wait to see more creations.

French Bakery Friday

Is anyone else a huge fan of cupcakes??!! They are by far my most favorite treat. Yummy!! So you know that when I saw this cute cupcake tray from Lockhart stamps I just had to get it. It was the perfect sweet to add to my stamp collection. When I started to stamp the cupcakes I thought I think I will make a French bakery card with it. Every time I think of France I think of pastries and little cafes. In this card I tried to incorporate that same feeling. I added the scalloped edge to emulate the cafe. I used the SU "Carte Postale" to add the french look. The cardstock used is SU Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum, and Pretty in Pink. On the cupcakes I cut them out and stamp VersaMark over the entire image and added Iridescent Ice EP over it. It really sparkles in real life. I added some tabs, ribbon, and a clip. For added details I did paper piercing and faux stitching. As an added bonus I am also sharing this awesome cupcake blog I found. They have yummy recipes to indulge in. Have a great weekend!!!

Techniquein' Thursday

I finally finished this card..wheww!! I just couldn't get it to look right but I stepped aside for a while and then came back and finished. I used the Stampin' Up "Doodle This" set from the Mini Catalog. I watercolored the big flowers on watercolor paper. I then stamped the whole piece with Versa Mark and added some clear EP. I heated it and it gave the glass look. I then added some stickles on the flower details. The ribbon is SU eggplant and some satin pink. The green clear letters are from the Paper Studio. Other cardstock used is Elegant Eggplant, Certain Celery, and Pale Plum. I did a scalloped edge with the slit punch and did some paper piercing. I added some green brads on all four corners to complete the card.

Whatever Goes Wednesday

UPDATE: I see some future Bella addicts are wondering where I bought them. I forgot to link the Stamping Bellas in my post. So if you are ok with getting hooked on them you can find them HERE. I warned you *smile*

I have to admit I am a Bella addicted!! Right now I only have two of them but I am already getting my wish list ready to hand over to DH. Since my b-day is around the corner I am sure he will not say no. *smile* For this card I used my flower Bella along with the SCS card sketch challenge of last week. Other stamps I used are SAB "Delight in Life" set. I thought it complimented the flower Bella perfectly. I colored her in with my SU markers and did some doodling around the edges. For the flowers I also colored them in with the markers and cut them out. I popped them on dimensions and added some stickles. I used some left over scraps of a fun dot pattern and SU Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink. I added some ribbon and some hardware to finish it off.

Mail Out Monday

This is a new stamp I ordered from the very awesome High Hopes. They have such darling stamps for every occasion. This one stamp really gets me in the Spring/Easter mood. I love big stamps that require a lot of coloring. For this cute bunny and carrots stamp I watercolored it and outlined it with my Stampin' Up markers and watercolor crayons. I matted it on Always Artichoke cardstock. Other papers used are Barely Banana, Marigold, and Pumpkin Pie. On the Pumpkin Pie I used the new Spring Mini Petals wheel stamp. It has cute flowers, doodles, and dots. For the bottom of the card I used the small SU wheel stamp that coordinates with the "Hoppy Day" set in the catalog. The sentiment is from the SAB set "Happy Harmony". I added some hardware on the tag and hung it with hemp twine . I also used some red, orange, and green grosgrain ribbon. To finish it off I added some stickles *smile*, sponging, paper piercing, and a flower brad.

Thursday TinkerBella

Sorry I have been lacking post this week but its been a crazy one. I did find some time to pull out my new Bella's last night to make this quick card. I can see why everyone is Bella crazy!! They are so cute and fun. This one is the Tinkerbella which I stamped and colored in with markers. I added stickles to her tutu dress and her magic wand. I did some doodling around the edges and paper piercing. The patterned paper used is a piece of scrap paper I had left from the Chatterbox collection. I thought it went great with this stamp. Other cardstock used is Regal Rose, So Saffron, Certain Celery, and Bravo Burgundy. I added some ribbon in cream and yellow and finished it off with some prima flowers and brads. The sentiment is from the Micheal's dollar rack.

As you guys have noticed I have been working on my banner. I am still stuck on which one to use so on Friday I am going to have some yummy blog candy and all you have to do is help me pick my new banner. I will have pictures of all the ones I have made. Tuesday ATC

Hello everyone!! I hope your weekend was fun. Mine sure was!! We finally went to the Rodeo and had a blast. I ate a yummy turkey leg, fried Oreo's, and a caramel apple. Surprisingly the fried Oreo's were so delicious although so fattening. (I start my diet tomorrow..hehehe) I will post some pictures on the bottom of the post.

Back to stamping..I finished my first ATC swap last night. I was so excited when I got an invitation to join the swap that the VERY talented Jen del Muro or also known as genie1314 on SCS hosted. I used the set I got at the SU regionals convention this past month. Its called the Double Line Doodles and will be available in the new catalog. I thought it was fresh, fun, and spring feeling. To go with that theme I chose the colors Pretty in Pink, Certain Celery, Old Olive, and Blush Blossom. I cut out the main flower and colored it with my Stampin' write markers. I stamped the paisley border stamp that is included in the set on the background Blush Blossom cardstock. I did some faux stitching on the Old Olive and added some pink satin ribbon. I also cut out some small flowers that I colored in pink and purple and popped them on dimensions. I finished it off by added stickles to the flower centers and sponging the edges. I really hope the girls in my swap will like them. I must do some more ATC swaps because they are so much fun and easy to make.

Fun Friday

Yay!! Its Friday and that means we have finally reached the weekend. Last night I wanted to use some scraps of paper that I have had laying around for a long time. I got the inspiration from the Chatterbox pattern paper. I also found this piece of Night of Navy cardstock that went well with the paper. I decided that the colors were serious so I settled on the SAB "Happy Harmony" for the main image. I love the simple elegance of this set. It also has such inspirational quotes. I stamped the flowers with my markers on Whisper White cardstock. I distressed the edges and used 3D glue dots to display it. I also used a big tag as a background panel in which I rolled up the edge and stamped SU Paisley bg. I added some copper brads, ribbon, and faux stitching. The other stamp used is the Weathered bg which is stamped on SU True Thyme cardstock. I made a photo corner out of Chocolate Chip and did some faux stitching on that too. I finished it off with some satin ribbon and a tab hardware. Have a great weekend!!

Thursday TAB Craze!

Don't you guys just love the new tab punch that SU came out with in the Spring Mini. It really is so versatile and new ways to use it are popping up all over fellow blogger sites and SCS. For this card I used it to display the three words we should all live by "Laugh, Share, and Play" The stamp set is from SU "Be Happy." The flowers are also from the Spring Mini's "Doodle This". I watercolored them in Mellow Moss, Pretty in Pink, and Bashful Blue. I cut them out and used 3D glue dots to make them pop. I matted the main image on Chocolate Chip. The background is So Saffron and the panel is Mellow Mose and Close to Cocoa. The layout is from this weeks sketch challenge on the SCS site. I also used the buckle from the hodgepodge hardware and tied some cream and pink satin ribbon. I added some blue pastel brads from Paper Studio. I was going to pass on the stickles for this card but at the last minute I just had to bust them out and add some bling to the flowers *giggle* I'm really addicted... ;) Just call me the Stickle Queen..hahaha

Whatever Goes Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone! So I know I have mentioned before that I love, love, love Whipper Snapper stamps. They have the cutest images and if you are like me and love to color then this is the company for you. They also host a monthly contest and give away gift certificates to their winners. You can find their site here. This is my first time using my new candy Mouse. I needed to make a birthday card for my sisters co-worker. I water colored the mouse and candy and matted it with SU Close to Cocoa and Certain Celery. I added some ribbon I bought from the dollar rack at Micheal's that matched the main colors I used. Prima flowers and some brads were also used. I did some paper piercing and sponging. The dots are made with SU's white gel pen. The card is a little bit busy but I could not stop myself..hehehe I hope she likes it.

Too Cute Tuesday

I am officially addicted to the new SU "Bundle of Joy" set from the Spring mini catalog. I love it!! Its so easy to make a sweet card and you always need to have baby cards handy. The layout idea is from SCS card sketch challenge found here. For this card I used the cute giraffe image which was stamped on watercolor paper and colored with SU watercolor crayons. I matted it on Chocolate Chip and So Saffron card stock. I also matted some adorable Basic Grey paper onto Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink. I stamped the sentiment on a tag and hung it from some ribbon and hemp twine. I did some paper piercing and added some brads to match. Like yesterdays card I added a pastel baby pin. I love those since they are the perfect embellishment for a baby card. They are from Paper Studio and I bought them in Hobby Lobby for 50% off. BTW Hobby Lobby is running the same sale this week on Paper Studio products. I think I might have to make an emergency stop to HL ASAP..*giggle*

Mail Out Monday

Hello everyone!! I hope you guys had a great weekend. Mine was good and relaxing. We didn't go to the Rodeo but we might go today. I did however get my SU shipment in on Saturday. *smile* I ordered almost all the Spring Mini catalog. I just love the stamps that they came out with. Their really sweet. My favorite would have to be the "Bundle of Joy" baby set. Its so cute and whimsical. I also ordered some watercolor crayons. They are great and so much fun to use. For this card I inked up the baby set and colored with my new watercolor crayons. For the cardstock I used SU Cool Caribbean, Close to Cocoa, Certain Celery, and Watercolor paper. I also used some darling paper from SEI "Grandma's Kitchen" collection. I pulled out some satin ribbon tied a bow and hung a oval punch tag from it. The sentiment is from Micheals dollar rack. The buttons are SU certain celery. I cut out a star from the set and popped it on dimensions and placed it on the teddy bear. I added some stickles and finished it off with sponging the edges. I think I will give this to my parent's neighbors daughter who just had a baby boy this past weekend.

Fun Friday

YAY!! Its Friday.. Hope everyone has something fun planned for the weekend. I think we might go to the Rodeo. *smile* I love going to the Rodeo. I know it sounds country but it really is so much fun. The stadium is huge and they have so many fun activities for the kids. We took Josh to the petting zoo last year and he LOVED it. I bet he will enjoy it even more this year. If we go I will take tons of pictures. So for this card I used the SU "Bubble Queen" set. This is the first time I have inked it up. I really need to use it more often because its really cute. I made this card for my girlfriend's daughters birthday. She is going to have a Spa themed party. I really wanted to make it girly and fun. I used Pretty in Pink, Blush Blossom, Almost Amethyst, and Real Red. I also used some gorgeous paper from Basic Grey. I took the color combo from this pattern paper. I used my scalloped punch for the main image. I also used my trusty stickles for added bling on her robe and towel. I inked the edges and added some faux stitching. I also used some SU ribbon and did some paper piercing. The sentiment is from Micheal's dollar rack. I hope she likes it! Have a great weekend. Hugs Ana

Thrifty Thursday

I went to Micheal's last night and as I was browsing the isles I found these giant white close pins. I have seen lots of ladies alter them and use them as picture holders. I always thought it was a thrifty idea so I bought them at $1.50. I thought they were a great bargain and since I have tons of yummy paper I just had to get them. There were only two left. I plan to go back since I think they make a cute gift idea. I found this cute paisley paper in black/white and brown/blue that I thought would be the perfect touch for the pins. I used ModgePodge to adhere the paper and also to glaze. After a few coats I sanded it down so it would be nice and smooth. When I finished I was stuck on what to embellish them with. I am out of Prima flowers *eeekk* so I resorted to cutting out these cute flowers from the SAB "Delight in Life" set. I used dimensional glue dots to adhere them and then added stickles to their middles for the added bling. Now I just need to find the right pictures to use.
